Talk about the “Shedding light on cloud shadows” project. They studied solar radiation propagation through cloud fields, with the aim to understand the patterns of light and shadow that we see at the Earth’s surface. Based on field observations and 3D cloud-resolving simulations, they identified the key mechanisms that explain the light patterns in detail.
