Progress in experiments on multiphoton electron-detachment from negative ions

We have given an overview of the experiments on multiphoton electron-detachment from negative ions up to the time of this writing. The discussed topics are absolute multiphoton-detachment cross sections, excess-photon detachment, threshold behaviour, and threshold shifts. Possibilities for future experiments are given.
