With a new measurement technique an accurate analysis of coherent backscattering is performed. The functional dependence of the enhancement factor on the scattering strength is determined. It is found that the enhancement factor falls below 2.00 at strong scattering and this is interpreted as the first experimental manifestation of recurrent scattering of light in disordered media.
