Valorization colloquium: What goes between invent and invest; my journey and general lessons learnt

Abstract:
More than 25 years have passed since my days as a PhD student in photovoltaic materials science at AMOLF and today’s professional dedication to climate technology investments. Being asked to share & discuss my experiences and insights by Amolf’s valorization work group, I’ll quickly browse through my energy-industry career since 1990 (corporate staff, consulting, entrepreneurship, management, turn-around, startup acceleration & investing) – only to arrive at sharing general understandings of how (not) to commercialize innovations with engagement of investors.
