Stimuli-responsive materials
Abstract
Stimuli-responsive polymer materials which respond to a stimulus by changing their shape, color or porosity are one of the focal points in materials science. The self-assembly of liquid crystals has proven to be an extremely useful tool in the development of such polymers that can for example be applied as soft actuators, responsive optical materials and tunable nanoporous materials. In my lecture, the potential of these stimuli-responsive materials will be discussed.
