Time Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy 2023 Conference

Time Resolved Vibrational Spectroscopy (TRVS) is a biennial international conference that gathers experts in the field of time-resolved vibrational spectroscopy and provides them with a forum for exchanging ideas and knowledge about the latest advances in the field.

TRVS 2023 will be the 21st edition of a conference series that started in 1982 in Lake Placid. The third edition was held in 1987 in Amersfoort,
The Netherlands, and we are proud that after 36 years the conference will return to The Netherlands.

TRVS brings together a thriving community of chemists, physicists, engineers, biophysicists and material scientists to share cutting-edge scientific research results, with abundant time for discussion of new concepts and directions, and an informal and collegial atmosphere that fosters opportunities for collaborations and networking.

About TRVS 2023

TRVS 2023 will be held in the “Trippenhuis”, which is a 17th century canal mansion in the old centre of Amsterdam. It was built in 1660–1662 for the wealthy Amsterdam weapons traders Louis and Hendrick Trip. Since 1887 it has been the seat of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.

TRVS 2023 will be a hybrid meaning which means that all the talks can be followed online and it will be possible to ask questions online. We do wish to have all speakers physically present in Amsterdam. The conference will reflect the modern frontiers of research in vibrational spectroscopy, featuring the most recent developments, new techniques and novel research directions in vibrational spectroscopy. Topics to be covered are:

1) Intra- and intermolecular vibrational excitations in (ionic) liquids, polymers and hydrogels

2) Phonon and vibrational dynamics in solids, nonlinear ‘phononics’

3) Vibrations in nanoparticles (quantum dots) and metal complexes

4) Vibrations at surfaces and membranes

5) Biophysical processes (proteins, DNA/RNA) and molecular motors

6) (Plasmonic) photochemistry, photocatalysis, and electrochemistry

7) Novel (nonlinear) spectroscopic phenomena and techniques
